“Hey Friends! I’m Brittney. I’m a stay at home mama of three wildflowers. My children are 6, 4 & 3. I am extremely grateful to be able to raise my babies at home while I provide for them by serving bomb sourdough to my local community. Though cooking and baking is not new to me, I do have professional credentials to back up my passion. I have an Associates Degree in Applied Science - Culinary Arts & Foodservice Management. I attended two schools to work toward my degree and never even used it, which honestly makes me very sad. I put in so much time and work to be able to use my expertise and I never did. I can’t believe I waited this long to do something that fuels my heart. My passion for baking and cooking started a long time ago when I was a little girl. I grew up with a dream of starting my own food service business but I have always been afraid to take the next step to achieve my culinary goals. After having children I realized my wants and needs have changed but my dreams and passion have always been the same. So I took the plunge and dove in head first with sourdough. I created R5 Cottage out of love for not only baking, but sourdough. I want to do something where I am still present for my children but can help with income. I have a bad habit of putting work before anything else and I definitely am known to be a work-a-holic. With R5 Cottage I have a goal to make sure I am putting my family first and then serving my community some kick-ass sourdough. Through this journey I will be making all food items with my sourdough starter. If you are familiar with sourdough you know us crazies name our starter. Mine’s name is Doughbie-wan-kedoubie. I know. I know. At least it’s better than Death Starter (I would love to have this name but I don’t think many of you would get my Star Wars reference. LOL) There are so many amazing benefits to cooking, baking & eating sourdough! I can't wait for you all to follow along my journey & I thank each and every one of you for your orders!
