How The Front Porch works

Run by Convene Market LLC, in Utah · Last updated June 2026

The Front Porch is a directory of homemade things you can pick up from a neighbor's front porch — home bakers, makers, backyard gardeners. Here's how it works, where the listings come from, and how we keep them honest.

What this is

A place to find porch shops near you. We don't sell anything and we don't host storefronts. You find a baker or a maker you like, you message them, and you pick it up at the porch. We point you to the shop; everything after that is between you and the neighbor who makes it. Listing a porch shop is always free.

How shops get listed

Listings get here two ways. Right now, most are ones we've compiled from public sources — public profiles and pages where home shops already share what they make — so the directory is useful in a town from day one instead of waiting for everyone to sign up. Owners can also list their own porch in a couple of minutes.

A listing we compiled says so on the page, and shows where the information came from. Those stay until the owner claims them — free, a couple of minutes — which hands the page over to the person who actually bakes or makes, to keep current from then on.

How we keep it accurate

We aim to list genuine, home-based porch shops — the kind of neighbor selling sourdough or candles or eggs from their own kitchen or yard. We leave out what reads as a chain, a regular storefront, or not a real shop.

We don't claim a page is perfect. We keep the directory honest three ways: every page can be claimed and managed by the owner; anyone can ask for a correction or removalwith one email and we handle it; and neighbors can flag a listing that doesn't belong. New shops get added as they register or as we find them in public sources, so the directory keeps growing with the town.

What we don’t do

We don't take payment and we're not in the middle of it — you pay the shop directly, cash or whatever they take, when you pick up at the porch. We don't verify permits or licenses; each shop follows the rules for where it bakes or makes, and that's theirs to know and honor. And we don't rank shops by who pays us — we never have and won't.

Who runs it

The Front Porch is run by Convene Market LLC, a small operation in Utah. If something on a page is wrong, or you'd like a listing corrected or removed, email hello@thefrontporch.store and a person will reply, usually within a day. Made with care from Utah.
