“At Our Daily Bread Microbakery, we are a faith-filled family business committed to providing you and your family nutritious sourdough goodies that you can feel good about eating. Thanks to fermentation, our sourdough helps improve gut health. Using clean, simple ingredients, and meticulous care, we hope our products become a staple and bring warmth and joy to your home. How we got here. My son, Freddy, who had a love for sourdough, asked if we could start baking our own. So, I attempted to make my own starter from scratch. I thought what a fun project and challenge. My first several attempts were abysmal and quite humbling. As a non-baker, I always found more joy in cooking without recipes than meticulously following them to a T. But, on Mother’s Day 2025, I decided to give it another go. We decided that our bad luck was linked to the oversight of not providing our starter a name, so we increased our chances by starting two jars, said a prayer, and landed on the names Snoop Dough and Dough Mama. To our delight, both began to thrive! And soon, we combined them into what we now refer to as Snoop Dough Mama. We quickly started making discard recipes, like naan bread and brownies. My first loaf of sourdough was quite sad, but you can bet Freddy and the rest of my family ate it up with delight, knowing it was something that was made with blood, sweat and tears, by us, from scratch. After many months, the breads matured and the non-baker baker improved, and now we are blessed with “bubbly giggly” starter and fluffy delicious and nutritious homemade sourdough. The Lord planted a little seed thought about starting our own Microbakery. While doubts and fears quickly tempered the idea, He continued to nudge, until one day I spoke it out loud to my family at the kitchen island. What I thought would result in a good laugh, ended in excitement from my kids about a new family adventure. And I thought what a beautiful way to teach our children about hard work, business, spreading joy, nutrition, faith, and potentially lots of failure. So here we are, and here we go! God Bless.”
