“Hi! I’m Essie and the owner of Creekside Bread which is a cottage bakery in Fair Hill, MD (just outside of downtown Newark). My sourdough bread is made using the ancient methods of bread making. No manufactured yeast, dough conditioners or preservatives are added. Just organic flour, water, salt and a wild yeast culture. The yeast culture (which is a mix of flour, water and yeast from the air) activates a fermentation process where the starches are pre-digested and the gluten protein is broken down, making the bread highly digestible and very delicious. Authentic, long-fermented sourdough is pleasantly, but not overly, sour. All items are made with organic & high quality ingredients whenever possible. We even use a variety of locally grown and freshly milled flours! Ordering opens on Monday each week and pickup is on Friday, usually between 4-6. All bread is baked that day! Orders will be clearly labeled and available to be picked up from my covered front porch of my in-home bakery on a grab & go basis. Feel free to knock if you have a question or just to say hi!
